Corpus Christi Channel at Ferry Transect from Harbor Island to Port Aransas across Corpus Christi Channel, from Northwest to Southeast Corpus Christi Bay Freshwater Inflow Survey, May 5 - 7, 2000 Velocity data was measured in real-time with an Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) The velocity data presented below was chosen from three locations along each transect: 1) The Center (Ctr), at the midway point of the transect; 2) The Left, or Northwest Bank (Lef), at the point where the distance is equal to one quarter of the entire transect distance; 3) The Right Bank, or Southeast Bank (Rig), at the point where the distance is equal to three quarters of the entire transect distance. Flow magnitude and direction are displayed for each transect location (Ctr, Lef, and Rig) at several depths: V_.10 = flow magnitude (ft/s) and direction (degrees) at 1/10 of the total depth below the surface. V_.30 = flow magnitude (ft/s) and direction (degrees) at 3/10 of the total depth below the surface. V_.50 = flow magnitude (ft/s) and direction (degrees) at 1/2 of the total depth below the surface. V_.70 = flow magnitude (ft/s) and direction (degrees) at 7/10 of the total depth below the surface. V_.90 = flow magnitude (ft/s) and direction (degrees) at 9/10 of the total depth below the surface. Date = yymmdd, Time = hhmm, TDep = total depth in feet at one location (Ctr, Lef, or Rig) along the transect, Tot.Flow = total flow over the entire transect in cubic feet per second.
