Swing Bridge East Matagorda Bay Freshwater Inflow Survey, September 20 - 22, 2000 Transect across the GIWW from South to North Velocity data was measured in real-time with an Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) The velocity data presented below was chosen from three locations along each transect: 1) The Center (Ctr), at the midway point of the transect; 2) The Left, or South Bank (Lef), at the point where the distance is equal to one quarter of the entire transect distance; 3) The Right Bank, or North Bank (Rig), at the point where the distance is equal to three quarters of the entire transect distance. Flow magnitude and direction are displayed for each transect location (Ctr, Lef, and Rig) at several depths: V_.25 = flow magnitude (ft/s) and direction (degrees) at 1/4 of the total depth below the surface. V_.30 = flow magnitude (ft/s) and direction (degrees) at 3/10 of the total depth below the surface. V_.50 = flow magnitude (ft/s) and direction (degrees) at 1/2 of the total depth below the surface. V_.65 = flow magnitude (ft/s) and direction (degrees) at 65% of the total depth below the surface. V_.80 = flow magnitude (ft/s) and direction (degrees) at 4/5 of the total depth below the surface. V_.85 = flow magnitude (ft/s) and direction (degrees) at 85% of the total depth below the surface.
