Red Bluff (Red Bluff to Spoil) Galveston Bay Freshwater Inflow Survey, July 18 - 19, 2001 Velocity data was measured in real-time with an Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) The velocity data presented below was chosen from two locations along each transect: 1) The center (Ctr), at the midway point of a transect, between the West Bank off Red Bluff and the "East Bank" area off the Spoil; 2) The Houston Ship Channel (HSC at RedBluff), at a point in the center and deepest part of the Ship Channel - that lies on the eastern edge of the transect, near the Spoil. Flow magnitude and direction are displayed for each transect location (Ctr, HSC at RedBluff) at several depths: V_.10 = flow magnitude and direction at 1/10 of the total depth below the surface. V_.30 = flow magnitude and direction at 3/10 of the total depth below the surface. V_.45 = flow magnitude and direction at 45% of the total depth below the surface. V_.50 = flow magnitude and direction at 1/2 of the total depth below the surface. V_.60 = flow magnitude and direction at 3/5 of the total depth below the surface. V_.70 = flow magnitude and direction at 7/10 of the total depth below the surface. V_.80 = flow magnitude and direction at 4/5 of the total depth below the surface. V_.90 = flow magnitude and direction at 9/10 of the total depth below the surface. Date = yymmdd, Time = hhmm, TDep = total depth in feet at one location (Ctr or HSC at RedBluff) along the transect, Tot.Flow = total flow over the entire transect in cubic feet per second.
