Magnolia Beach Matagorda Bay Freshwater Inflow Survey, March 24 - 26, 2003 Velocity data was measured in real-time with an Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) The velocity data presented below was chosen from three locations along each transect: 1) The center (Ctr), a location in the shallow region near the midpoint of the transect - slightly closer to the left bank (east bank at the mouth of Lavaca Bay) than the right bank; 2) The Ship Channel (Shp), at a point in the center and deepest part of the Ship Channel - that lies off the right bank (west bank at the mouth of Lavaca Bay); 3) The right bank (Rt), at a shallow point off the right wing of the ship channel. Flow magnitude and direction are displayed for each transect location (Ctr, Shp, Rt) at several depths: V_.10 = flow magnitude and direction at 1/10 of the total depth below the surface. V_.25 = flow magnitude and direction at 1/4 of the total depth below the surface. V_.40 = flow magnitude and direction at 2/5 of the total depth below the surface. V_.50 = flow magnitude and direction at 1/2 of the total depth below the surface. V_.75 = flow magnitude and direction at 3/4 of the total depth below the surface. V_.90 = flow magnitude and direction at 9/10 of the total depth below the surface.
