Directory: /archive/Fieldstudies/Christmas92/Weather Christmas Bay Field Study June 12 - 15, 1992 Wind velocity measurements are stored in file wind.xmas92. The data were collected with a Meteorology Research Inc. (now Belfort Instrument Company, Baltimore, Maryland) model 2071 Mechanical Weather Station with model 1072 chart paper. Each line following the two header lines in wind.xmas contains the station number, date (yymmdd), time (hhmm), direction (degrees), and wind speed (mph). The direction corresponds to degrees from north from which wind is blowing, 90 degrees indicating, e.g., that the wind is from due east. The data can be read with the following FORTRAN statements: 5 read(10,10,end=15)asta,iy(n),im(n),id(n),ih(n), & idir(n),speed(n) 10 format (a4,2x,3i2,2i5,f6.1) where asta is the station identifier, iy,im,id, and ih, are the integer year, month, day, hour, idir is the direction, and speed is the wind speed. Two weather stations were deployed, although only one functioned properly.
